Volunteer Opportunities
Hotline Volunteer
Training
PSS's 24 hour parental support hotline has provided an invaluable
service to families in Alameda County for over 25 years. Our hotline
has been sustained through the generous, skilled work of volunteer
counselors, supported by our staff of experienced clinicians. We
are actively recruiting for interested volunteers to participate
in our 30- hour training seminar to prepare people for work as counselors
on the hotline. After successfully completing the training, we ask
for a commitment from volunteers to work one 4- hour shift per week
.
This is an excellent opportunity to make a difference in the lives
of children and families, while gaining valuable experience and
supervision from experienced staff. If you are interested in joining

Agency Volunteer
For those who wish to volunteer with the PSS family, but require
more flexibility, there are numerous opportunities to become involved.
Do you have a specialized skill that you wish to contribute for
a specific event or time-period? Perhaps you are a computer whiz,
have artistic abilities, or you have an interest in fundraising.
This is a perfect opportunity for you to share your creativity and
energy with our agency and offer much needed support. If you are
interested in exploring the possibility of volunteering with our
